Alice Kimm and John Friedman join AIA LA for a Fireside Chat

John Friedman, FAIA, and Alice Kimm, FAIA, have been awarded the 2025 AIA Los Angeles Gold Medal, the Chapter’s highest individual honor. The recognition celebrates a shared practice grounded in civic purpose, educational engagement, and the belief that architecture can strengthen cultural and community connections.
The pair joined Madeleine Brand of KCRW for a public fireside chat at AIA LA headquarters in Los Angeles. The evening offered insights into the continuing evolution of JFAK’s collaborative work, and some of the challenges and opportunities shaping LA’s built environment.
