c. JFAK, 2020
JFAK continues to address the challenge of homelessness.
For the second virtual event in the Design Impact leadership series, sponsored by Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design Alumni Council, John Friedman and Alice Kimm are curating a direct, real-talk dialogue on homelessness in the United States that will explore the myriad causes of rising homelessness and innovative solutions to eradicate it.
The dialogue will consist of 3 distinct panels: Ethics: Is Housing a (Universal) Human Right?, Policy: What’s the Problem?, and Action: Accelerating Implementation, followed by a summary dialogue. The panels will be prefaced by keynote remarks from Binyamin Appelbaum, lead writer on business and economics for the Editorial Board of The New York Times. Confirmed speakers include Binyamin Appelbaum, Nithya Raman, Heidi Marston, Denise Ghartey, Richard Sennett, Leilani Farha, Michael Lehrer, Angela Howard, Samuel Greenberg, Hanan Scrapper, Claire Elizabeth Williams, Sam Klein, Kevin Hirai, Rosanne Haggerty, and Kofi Akakpo.
